薄荷的功效;食用可幫助消化,打成果汁飲用可降血壓,塗抹可止癢鎮痛,味道讓人放鬆醒神,非常廣泛被應用的香草。
薄荷種類繁多,原生種就有600種,混合種有2000種,圖片看到的是蘋果薄荷,有清甜的香氣,瑞士薄荷最適合泡茶,蘇格蘭薄荷健壯且成長快速;是提煉薄荷油的主流原料,其他品種有綠薄荷、銀薄荷、日本薄荷、中國薄荷、英國薄荷、越南薄荷、奧地利薄荷、鳳梨薄荷、柳橙薄荷、巧克力薄荷、香蕉薄荷、胡椒薄荷,等非常多種。

Swiss mint is best for making tea, Scottish mint is strong and grows fast; it is the major specious for making refined mint oil. 材料:
1杯細沙糖(甜度自己調整,我自己是不加糖的)
1杯水
4杯冰
1杯新鮮檸檬汁(3-4個檸檬)
15g新鮮薄荷葉(約一小束)
4杯冷水
1個檸檬(切片)
工具:果汁機、杯子、水壺
製作方法:
1. 一杯水與一杯糖混合,攪拌使糖溶化
2. 四杯冰塊先放果汁機打碎
3. 再加入混合好的糖水、檸檬汁、薄荷葉與原先在果汁機裡的冰塊一起打,待薄荷成小碎片。
4. 加入水壺(果汁壺中)放入切片檸檬,完成
Ingredient:
1 cup of fine sugar (sweetness adjusts itself, I don’t add sugar myself)
1 cup of water
4 cups of ice
1 cup of fresh lemon juice (3-4 lemons)
15 grams of fresh mint leaves (about a small bundle)
4 cups of cold water
1 lemon (sliced)
Tool: Blender, Cup, kettle
Method:
1. Mixed with a cup of sugar and a cup of water, and stir to mix the sugar and water.
2. Crush all of the ice in a blender (until they’re mini bite-sized pieces)
3. Add the mixed syrup, lemon juice, mint leaves and the ice cubes that were originally in the blender, then broken up into smaller pieces and all the ingredients are well combined.
4. Add the sliced lemon, and keep the lemonade in the kettle (in the juice jug)

雞半隻(一家人五口可吃一餐)
與雞同體積薄荷(薄荷視個人口味增減,自己吃比較濃的薄荷味,所以薄荷較多)
蒜頭半顆(約三瓣)
製作方法:
1. 備料;將所有材料清洗乾淨,雞肉以滾水燙去血水備用(雞肉可切塊或不切塊)
2. 中大火用植物油煎炒一下蒜頭和雞肉
3. 全部材料放入湯鍋中,水加到蓋過雞肉,小火燉煮至雞肉完成(半小時左右,可以視雞肉軟爛程度喜好,自己調整)
Ingredient:
Half chicken (can eat one meal for one family )
The same volume of peppermint as the chicken (the amount of mint can be increased or decreased depending on the taste of the individual. I prefer the rich taste of mint so the mint is more here)
Half a garlic (about three petals)
Method:
1. Prepare the ingredients; clean all the ingredient. Boil the chicken with water to clean (the chicken can be cut or not cut)
2. In the big fire, fry the garlic and chicken with the plants.
3. Put all the ingredients into a pot, add the water to the chicken, simmer until the chicken is cooked (about half an hour, you can adjust the chicken softness by cooking it longer).
多年生草本;夏天可能會枯萎,如果熬過夏天,就可以在秋天開始時繼續茂盛生長。
肥料;入春秋時,可加一點氮肥。
易繁殖;分株、扦插與播種都可,分株或扦插,都非常方便,而且易成功。
注意夏天常有蟲害,因為薄荷有地下走莖,最好有獨立花盆或區域種植。
