迷迭香在歐洲有 “魔法料理香草” 的稱呼,在1990年代引進台灣,耐旱少蟲害,是很適合園藝初學者的一種入門的香草。
原產於地中海地區,其味道具有安神、幫助消化等作用,莖、葉和花都可提取芳香油用於美容,同時也適合用來放入料理中。
迷迭香有許多種類,其中包含抱木迷迭香;常被種植於陽台使其自然垂下,匍匐迷迭香;生長快速,植株建議修剪保持在50到70公分,常被用來添加在保養品中,寬葉迷迭香;適合用來醃肉類,使肉軟嫩,但不適合泡茶,斑葉迷迭香;可以將其修剪下的枝葉放入橄欖油或是醋裡面浸泡,使香味釋出,作為醬汁使用,也常被用來添加在保養品中,除此之外還有。
