Today’s mainstream concepts which define success are still based on a form of growth and expansion. However, very few people question the impact behind it or think about the possibility of unlimited growth. Is it possible to continue to grow forever? The nature’s counterattack like the virus which shacked the world is just a small warning bell. Will human beings finally regret at the critical point of destruction after being swallowed by self-greed?
American imperialism has quietly penetrated our lives. After reading this book, when I try to think about the truth in front of the medias’ information. It is easier to know my own ignorance a little bit. I think the United States does not really care about Taiwan but cares about its own power and interests. If there is no benefit for the US, Taiwan would be kicked away a long time ago. What is our value as a peculiar island one side on the east side and the west side?
If you think about it, why do all the leaders in Central and South America who have been supported by the people from the bottom of the country usually suddenly died in a plane crash when they were working for the country’s own sovereign interests and not long after their rise? Is there such a coincidence? I have watched a lot of Hollywood movies and thought that Superman is really a symbol of justice. I hope that the Middle Eastern, the yellow race, the Central and South Americans, the ethnic minorities on the ocean islands, etc. can all be our own superheroes when we face the economics hit man or the imperial army.
